Dual-Modality ECT/ERT Imaging System

TJUDMT: Dual-modality Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) / Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT) imaging system (TJUDMT): ERT + ECT dual modality on one acquisition platform, measuring the same spool plane simultaneously, with dual-modal imaging at 15-500 fps and phase-fraction and flow-regime outputs for gas-liquid-solid and oil-water multiphase flow monitoring.

The TJUDMT (Dual-Modality Tomography) series — designed and developed by the Tianjin University Electrical Imaging research group — integrates Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT, contact conductivity measurement) and Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT, non-contact permittivity measurement) on a single acquisition platform: both modalities measure the same spool plane simultaneously under one factory clock with per-frame timestamps. Three tiers are available — Standard, Professional and Flagship (1-3 ERT planes plus 1-2 ECT planes, with simultaneous dual-modal imaging at 15-500 fps). The complementary modalities cover both conductive and non-conductive media, suited to gas-liquid-solid and oil-water flows whose electrical properties change with operating conditions; phased calibration and flow-regime identification are supported.

Overview

Two modalities, one platform, one measurement plane

When water is the continuous conductive phase, ERT leads with conductivity mapping; as water content drops and water appears as droplets or films, ECT takes over with permittivity imaging — water's permittivity (≈80) contrasts sharply with gas (≈1) and ceramics (≈9–12), so the two modalities complement each other across operating conditions. Simultaneous dual-modal imaging is available at 15-500 fps depending on tier, with hardware clock synchronisation and per-frame timestamps aligned within half a frame period; data exports as image sequences and CSV, with open SDK on the Flagship tier for dual-modality fusion and post-processing in MATLAB or Python.

Contact sales

  • Simultaneous same-plane acquisition

ERT and ECT share one acquisition platform and one factory clock, with per-frame timestamps aligned within half a frame period — dual-modal data directly comparable.

  • Complementary across operating conditions

ERT maps conductivity in conductive continuous phases; ECT takes over in low-water-cut conditions — covering media ranges a single modality cannot.

  • Multi-plane 3D imaging

Up to 3 ERT planes plus 2 ECT planes acquired synchronously on the Flagship tier to reconstruct the 3D distribution of the measured object.

  • Open data · full calibration

Image-sequence and CSV export, with open SDK on the Flagship tier; phased calibration across water+gas, water+solid and three-phase conditions.
